GUWAHATI: Pallav Gopal Jha, the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metropolitan) district, confirmed on Wednesday, two days after the notification was issued, that that no teaching staff has been given Ambubachi Mela duty. He also added that the notification was issued due to some miscommunication.
Taking on twitter, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu informed, “No teacher has been given Ambuwasi duty. Infact duty detailment is not yet done — @DCKamrupMetro
has clarified. Further, no exams are scheduled now in the schools as per academic calendar. @SchoolEdnAssam”
Earlier a notification was issued as, “With reference to the subject cited above, I have the honour to request you for providing 5 nos. of efficient teachers from HS School and 3 nos. of efficient teachers from High School as per enclosed list of schools for smooth conduct of Ambubachi Mela, 2023. The name of teachers with contact number is mandatory to send this Inspectorate on or before 13th June/2023 positively without fail.”
As Guwahati prepares for the Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya Temple, yesterday Assam Government issued an order and decided to enlist the help of Kamrup (Metropolitan) district school teachers to ensure the event runs well, according to reports on Wednesday.
In this regard, the District Inspector of Schools issued a notification on June 12 requesting efficient teachers/manpower to ensure the smooth operation of the Ambubachi Mela.
According to reports on Wednesday, as Guwahati prepares for the Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya Temple, the Assam Government has decided to recruit the services of Kamrup (Metropolitan) district school teachers to ensure the event runs well.
On June 12, the District Inspector of Schools issued a notification urging efficient teachers/manpower to facilitate the Ambubachi Mela's smooth running.
According to sources, the Ambubachi Mela's Pravritti will be performed at 2.30 a.m. on June 22, and the temple's main door will be closed for three days and three nights. On June 26, worshippers will be able to enter.
