Assam: OIL launches two development projects at Baghjan

The foundation stone of two projects undertaken by OIL -‘Improvement of Road from Doomdooma to Baghjan via Doimukhia Dighalturung of length 21.60 km’ and ‘Anti-erosion Measures at Ananta Nallah of River Brahmaputra’, were ceremoniously laid by Rameswar Teli, Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour & Employment on Wednesday at Baghjan in Tinsukia district.

DIBRUGARH: The foundation stone of two projects undertaken by OIL -‘Improvement of Road from Doomdooma to Baghjan via Doimukhia Dighalturung of length 21.60 km’ and ‘Anti-erosion Measures at Ananta Nallah of River Brahmaputra’, were ceremoniously laid by Rameswar Teli, Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour & Employment on Wednesday at Baghjan in Tinsukia district.

The event was also graced by Pradan Baruah, Member of Parliament, Rupesh Gowala, MLA Doomdooma, Swapneel Paul, DC Tinsukia, Atindra Roychoudhury, RCE, OIL, Shyamal Prasad Das, GM(PA) and Arunjyoti Barauh CGM(HR-PA).

In his address, Rameswar Teli emphasized the importance of these projects and their positive impact on the local communities. He said, “These projects on improvement of road and anti-erosion measures are crucial steps towards creating a resilient and accessible infrastructure for Baghjan area. OIL’s commitment towards development of the region is commendable.”

Highlighting OIL’s continuous commitment towards development of its operational areas, Atindra Roychoudhury said, “Oil India has been implementing various public and social welfare schemes for the development of its operational areas. The launch of these two new projects is a testament of the company’s continuous commitment to the overall welfare and progress of this region.”

The company believes that the measures taken will immensely benefit the surrounding community and will try to resolve the long felt need to capture the unabated erosion in the area under Doomdooma LAC.
