Assam: ONGC Jorhat organizes free eye-cum- medical camp

The camp included screening tests, distribution of free spectacles and phaco surgery for cataract patients. Additionally, there was a free basic health check-up for all the participants.

Jorhat: ONGC Jorhat organized a free eye-cum-medical camp at Ghulapani ME School, Haldibari, Golaghat district. The camp was held with support from Panidhar Bardoloi Memorial Trust (Chandraprabha Eye Hospital) on Saturday. The camp was organized as part of CSR initiative of ONGC's Jorhat work centre at a cost of Rs. 11,61,710 and is intended to benefit over 500 residents of Haldibari, Lachitgaon, Ghulapani and surrounding areas. The camp included screening tests, distribution of free spectacles and phaco surgery for cataract patients. Additionally, there was a free basic health check-up for all the participants.

In the eye-cum-medical camp, a total of 550 people were screened, after which 138 spectacles were distributed to affected people. A total of 34 people who were diagnosed with cataract in the camp were transported to Chandraprabha Eye Hospital, Jorhat for Phacoemulsification surgery and further treatment.
