Assam: Organic agriculture project at Doomdooma Municipal Board's dumping ground

Doomdooma Municipal Board (DMB)’s dumping ground near Doomdooma river turned into an organic agriculture firm with sowing of seeds of corn over it formally by MLA Rupesh Gowala and District Commissioner, Tinsukia district, Swapneel Paul on Tuesday in presence of chairperson Kanta Bhattacharya, Vice- Chairman Moni Dutta and the Ward Commissioners.

DOOMDOOMA: Doomdooma Municipal Board (DMB)’s dumping ground near Doomdooma river turned into an organic agriculture firm  with sowing of seeds of corn over it formally by MLA Rupesh Gowala and District Commissioner, Tinsukia district, Swapneel Paul on Tuesday in presence of chairperson Kanta Bhattacharya, Vice- Chairman Moni Dutta and the Ward Commissioners. DMB cleared the dumping ground to start a organic agricultural project there. MLA Gowala and District Commissioner Swapneel Paul also flagged off two trucks of the disposal of Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) to a cement factory of Mahalaya to be used as fuel for its kiln there.

MLA Gowala in his address said that already the tender was floated for the installation of a solid waste processing plant on three bighas of land and for construction of a park on the dumping ground. He also urged the people to keep the town clean. The entire programme which was anchored by Ward Commissioner Nayan Deka, was attended by leading citizen Arjun Baruah and Uday Kanu, the person in charge of the project.
