Assam: Photo exhibition on freedom fighters held in Nagaon

The Central Bureau of Communication in Guwahati has organized a two-day photo exhibition at Nagaon, beginning from Wednesday. This exhibition provides an opportunity to closely observe the valour and bravery of our freedom fighters.

Nagaon: The Central Bureau of Communication in Guwahati has organized a two-day photo exhibition at Nagaon, beginning from Wednesday. This exhibition provides an opportunity to closely observe the valour and bravery of our freedom fighters. The exhibition aims to raise awareness among the youth about the sacrifices made by the nation’s freedom fighters, particularly those from the Northeast, and the government’s schemes and initiatives over the past 9 years. It features over 30 panels dedicated to freedom fighters from the Northeast and the 9 years of service, good governance, and welfare.

During the inauguration of the exhibition, Phyllis Hrangchal, the Additional District Commissioner of Nagaon, expressed her appreciation for the Central Bureau of Communication’s efforts in educating people about the unsung heroes of the Northeast’s freedom struggle. She urged the students to come forward and learn about these freedom fighters and their contributions to the nation.

Dr. Sadananda Payeng, the Principal of ADP College, emphasized the importance of remembering and celebrating the unsung heroes of the country’s freedom movement. He highlighted that the nation’s freedom was achieved through their valour and bravery, and he hoped the students would learn about these brave heroes of the Independence struggle.

Smita Saikia, Media & Communication Officer, PIB, also discussed the objectives of the exhibition during the event.

More than 300 students from the college and local residents participated in the programme. The artistes from CBC, Guwahati, performed various cultural programs on this occasion. The two-day exhibition will host various competitions, including an open quiz, a patriotic dance competition, and extempore speeches among the students, stated a press release.”
