Assam: Playwright Jaysurjya Bora wins Axam Xahitya Xabha Award

Much to the satisfaction of the drama circle of Doomdooma, noted playwright, director and actor, Jaysurjya Bora bagged third prize for his play ‘Ahom Chanakya Bodami’ in full-fledged drama script competition organized by Drama Subcommittee of Axam Xahitya Xabha.

DOOMDOOMA: Much to the satisfaction of the drama circle of Doomdooma, noted playwright, director and actor, Jaysurjya Bora bagged third prize for his play ‘Ahom Chanakya Bodami’ in full-fledged drama script competition organized by Drama Subcommittee of Axam Xahitya Xabha. The theme of the drama is based on the life of Chanakya (Kautilya or Vishnugupta), the Hindu statesman and politician best known for his treatise on Politics ‘Artha-Shastra’. It was staged at Kallol auditorium of Doomdooma College a few months back. It then won appreciation of people as setting in a healthy trend in its content and presentation.

The award would be presented at special annual session of AXX to be held at Baropujia in Morigaon district. Bora runs a drama school at his home at Jonaki path, Rupaisiding. Many organisations and individuals congratulated Dramatist Bora for this state level award of highest literary apex body like Axam Xahitya Xabha.
