HAFLONG: The managing committee of Raja Govinda Chandra Aarsh Gurukulam Dayanand Durg Wasaikhong Diyungbra, Dima Hasao district, has urged State Power Minister Nandita Gorlosa for the exemption of electricity bill and reconnection as a regular customer.
Because of non-payment of bill of the designated camp of former Dima Halam Daogah DHD, during the peace talks, APDCL Kheroni disconnected the power line. The Government of Assam should have taken responsibility for all bills of the former Dima Halam Daogah DHD revolutionary organization during peace talks and the Gurukulam is not responsible for the pending bill, said the committee.
It further stated that the Government of Assam and former DHD should sit together and resolve the bill issue as per the ceasefire ground rules and as per the MoS. The Gurukulam reopens on August 2 after summer vacation and it will hamper the students and society, the committee added.
