Assam Police arrested gang of robbers in Dudhnoi

Flying squads and local police are carrying out raids in different parts of the State on the directions of the Election Commission of India.

DUDHNOI: Flying squads and local police are carrying out raids in different parts of the State on the directions of the Election Commission of India. At around 2 pm on Monday night, during regular search operation, a white Maruti Alto 800 car (AS-25-CC-0625) was found waiting on the road to Dudhnoi weekly market (Hatkhola).

The vehicle was already under the surveillance of Dudhnoi police. Four persons in the car - Jaidul Islam (25) of Jorshimli Chaygaon, Kamrup), Jobbar Ali (23) of Jorshimli, Chaygaon Kamrup, Syed Ali (20) of Chatwanti Jaleshwar, Goalpara and Mahir Ali (32) of West Kanki Boguan, Goalpara -were taken to Dudhnoi police station.

Police sources said that all four were robbers who would stop vehicles, pick-up vans carrying betel nut and cashew by showing weapons and loot the drivers, handymen. Police registered a case against the four and sent them to Goalpara on Tuesday.
