Assam Police Holds Bike Rally To Celebrate The Winning Of President's Colour Award

Assam Police happens to be only the 10th State Police force in the country to have been conferred with the prestigious President’s Colour Award.

Guwahati: Top officials of the Assam Police kicked off a bike rally going by the name of 'Ride of Pride' on May 2 so as to celebrate the momentous occasion of winning the prestigious President's Colour Award.

The rally is set to cover the entire perimeters of Assam and it will start from Dhubri. 'Ride of Pride' will last for 8 days and it will cover 27 districts across the state with a total distance of 2055 kilometers.

Notably, Assam Police happens to be only the 10th State Police force in the country to have been conferred with the prestigious President's Colour Award.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present the Presidents' Colour Award to the Assam Police at an event in Guwahati on May 10.

The President's Colour Award is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon any military unit of India. It is also known as ′Nishaan′ which is an emblem that will be worn by all unit officers on the left-hand sleeve of their uniform.

"This is a true testament to Assam police's commitment towards performance, professionalism, integrity & above all service to humanity. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we are kicking off a two-week statewide celebratory program from tomorrow onwards," the Assam DGP said.

Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, the Director General Of Police, Assam, took to his official Twitter handle to share this momentous occasion.
