Assam: Police Nabs 11 Thieves, Huge Amount Of Copper Items Seized

GUWAHATI: A matter came to light on Monday, where Assam police successfully nabbed as many as 11 robbers and seized a huge number of copper utensils. The incident has been recorded in Assam’s Biswanath Chariali. 

The arrests has been made on 13th of February, and police informed that based on a complaint registered in the concerned police department, a team of cops initiated search operation at varied locations of the region.

During the process eleven individuals were found guilty from different areas under Biswanath police station. S Hazowary, the police officer of Biswanath informed that, eleven men are currently under the custody as a huge number of copper utensils has been recovered prom their possession.

Amongst the accused men, few includes minor and Hazowary informed that they will be taken in the Juvenile Justice Board. The rest who has attained the age of 18 years will be presented in the court, the officer added. The concerned department has continued with the investigation and a case has been registered against the matter.

On Monday, another matter came forth where Guwahati police seized fake currency notes worth Rs 5 lakhs from ISBT. Police began a search operation in the mentioned area, based on a prior secretive information. According to the reports, two people were nabbed during the raid who were supplying the notes to some secret sources. The arrested has been identified as Amar Tamang and Roshan Rai.

The duo hails from the mountainous region, Darjeeling. As per sources, Guwahati police recovered three mobile phones, bank passbooks and other valuable documents like Aadhaar and PAN card from their acquisition. A case has been registered regarding the matter and further investigation is on.
