Assam: Renowned poets to participate in Ledo National Poetry Conference

DIBRUGARH: A two-day Ledo National Poetry Conference (LNPC) will be organized jointly by Kabyadhawani and Ledo College from September 22.

Renowned poet and lyricist, leading writer, and former General Manager of Coal India Limited, Dr Ranjit Dutta, who is also the president of Kabyadhawani, Asom, will welcome the poets gathered at Ledo from various parts of the country as well from various districts of the State in the inaugural function to be held at Hotel H G Hub, Borgolai. Noted poet Anubhav Tulshi will light the traditional light. Visiting noted poet Subodh Sarkar (from Kolkata) will inaugurate the first session of the poets’ meet. Distinguished poet of Assam, Nilim Kumar will grace the inaugural function as chief guest and poets Nisha Lutera (Chandigarh), Anik Chaterjee (Kolkata) and Juliana Begun (Assam), will be the guests of honour.

The first day’s programme will conclude with the release of ‘Kabyadhawani’ by renowned poet Anubhav Tulshi. Poet Yogesh Bikash Gogoi will recite ‘Kabyadhawani’ and offer the vote of thanks.

An ace poet of Varanasi, Dr Bira Singh will inaugurate the National Kabi Sanmmilan on September 23. The Principal of Ledo College, Dr Kripa Prasad Upadhayay will welcome all the poets, guests and others.

President of Kabyadhawani, Dr Ranjit Dutta said that renowned poet Anubhav Tulshi will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, 2023, for his immense contribution as a poet, while poet Rajorshi Patranabis of Kolkata will be awarded with the Kabyadhawani Sammanoy Sanman.
