JAMUGURIHAT: One Harshapal Singh (25), a jawan of 39 Assam Rifles committed suicide in the Army barrack under Itakhola police out post in the early morning hours of August 8. Other jawans spotted him hanging with a rope in the bathroom and immediately informed higher authority about the incident. Accordingly, Magistrate Mantosh Chakravarti rushed to the spot and the dead body was sent to Behali PHC for postmortem.
