SILCHAR: The Kadamtala Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of headquarters 21 sector Assam Rifles (East) organised a medical camp under 'operation Sadbhavna' at Machkhal village in Cachar district on Saturday. It was yet another effort of the Assam Rifles to extend all possible help to people of cross sections to change their way of living and make friendly rapport with them. The relentless drive of Assam Rifles in this direction has been paying dividends. People, both tribals and non tribals in hills and plains, are coming forward to help the friendly force to achieve their noble mission and vision.

The largely attended medical camp from far and near places of Machkhal was attended by doctors and para medical staff of the Assam Rifles who examined them and gave the proper diagnosis for necessary medicines and other aids free of cost. It was an exhilarating experience for them as Banmali Pasyad, A Khasi dweller of the hilly hamlet, said. In all 497 villagers turned up for obtaining the much needed medical advice and help.

Inhabitants of the area are happy that Assam Rifles has selected their village for holding the medical camp. Remote and scattered villages lack even basic health structures and their people have to come to subsidiary or primary health centres, facing all odds. They expressed their gratefulness to Assam Rifles for their yeoman services.
