Guwahati: Amid the scorching heat, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), has predicted thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds at isolated places in Assam.
As per the prediction, moderate to rain is likely to occur at several places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) informed the same and said that thunderstorms with lightning are expected at isolated places such as Goalpara, Baksa, Barpeta, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Darrang, Udalguri, Hojai, West Karbi-Anglong, Biswanath, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Dima-Hasao, Cachar, Hailakandi, and Karimganj.
It further said that a few places in Karbi-Anglong, Golaghat, Majuli, and Charaideo districts also face the same weather condition.
Notably, for the past few days, Guwahati city has been experiencing scorching heat accompanied by humidity, and such weather conditions as predicted by the RMC will definitely be a sigh of relief to people.
