GUWAHATI: In a heart-wrenching accident, two individuals lost their lives, and four others were left with severe injuries when a speeding truck collided with two tempo vans in Bilasipara, located in Assam's Dhubri district. The deceased have been identified as Abdul Ajit and Mamar Ali, while the identities of the injured victims are yet to be determined. The tragedy unfolded near Nayahat village, where the two tempo vans were involved in the fatal collision.

As news of the incident spread, local authorities promptly arrived at the scene, providing immediate assistance and rushing the injured to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. The loss of lives and injuries have left the community in mourning and shock.

Regrettably, this accident is not an isolated incident in Assam. The state has witnessed other distressing road mishaps in recent times, resulting in more fatalities and injuries.

In another unfortunate incident, a head-on collision between a Suzuki car and an Innova at Lakhimpur bypass claimed the life of a young woman and left six others wounded. The impact of the collision was so severe that the young woman lost her life on the spot, and the injured passengers required urgent medical attention.

Similarly, in the Sonitpur district of Assam at Jamugurihat, another fatal accident took place, claiming the life of a person identified as Rupak Hazarika. A dumper collided with a motorcycle at Towbhanga near Jamugurihat, resulting in the tragic death of Rupak Hazarika, who was the pillion rider on the motorcycle. The pilot rider, identified as Nripen Hazarika, suffered serious injuries and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital.

These incidents highlight the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations in the region. The loss of precious lives and the pain inflicted upon the injured victims and their families demand immediate attention and action.

The authorities must investigate the causes of these accidents thoroughly to prevent similar tragedies in the future. Road safety awareness campaigns and improved infrastructure are essential steps in reducing such mishaps on Assam's roads.

As the communities affected by these accidents mourn their losses, it is crucial for the state and local governments to prioritize road safety initiatives to ensure the well-being of all road users. Only through collective efforts and responsible driving can we hope to avoid such devastating incidents on our roads.
