HAILAKANDI: In Hailakandi District, Assam, the Cultural Affairs Department of the Assam Government has unfurled the grand canvas of cultural richness with the commencement of the "Sanskritik Mahasangram's District Level Cultural Competition." The inaugural ceremony, held at the local Rabindra Bhavan auditorium, was graced by the esteemed presence of District Commissioner N. H. Gautam, who inaugurated the event with a heartfelt homage to the legendary Jyoti Prasad Agarwala on his death anniversary.

The auditorium came alive with the spirit of creativity and tradition, as dignitaries including ADC Tridib Roy, renowned singer Gautam Gupta, ACS officer Puja Dalagpu, MLA representative Jamal Uddin Chowdhury, and other luminaries gathered to mark the occasion. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as the three-day cultural competition unfolded, dedicated to the memory of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala and scheduled to conclude on January 19th.

Today's events showcased a kaleidoscope of talent with competitions in Jyoti Sangeet, Vishnu Rabha songs, Bihu dance, and more. The cultural extravaganza witnessed the participation of 155 artists from Hailakandi District, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of Assam's cultural heritage.

District Commissioner NH Gautam, in his address, emphasized the significance of the event, noting that over 25 thousand artists from diverse categories had previously participated in the Sanskritik Mahasangram held in Hailakandi District. This staggering number not only underscores the immense cultural wealth of the region but also reflects the growing enthusiasm and commitment of the community towards preserving and celebrating their artistic legacy.

As the competition unfolds, the Rabindra Bhavan auditorium becomes a melting pot of artistic expressions, fostering a sense of community and pride in the rich cultural heritage of Assam.
