Assam: Science exhibition held in Doomdooma

A science-cum-art and craft exhibition was held at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Doomdooma on Tuesday. The students exhibited science models, art and craft items as well as various ethnic costumes, ornaments, food items and various elements of Xatriya culture.

DOOMDOOMA: A science-cum-art and craft exhibition was held at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Doomdooma on Tuesday. The students exhibited science models, art and craft items as well as various ethnic costumes, ornaments, food items and various elements of Xatriya culture.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Major Balwant Singh, Army Officer, 19th Grenadier Regiment of Indian Army in the morning. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Sister Martha Tallen, Manager of the school, Advocate B. K. Singh, former teacher of Doomdooma Bangiya Vidyalaya Sailen Sharma, Principal of St. Francis School Caroline Basaimoth, St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School Management Committee members Santosh Sah and Kashmir Kujur as guests of honour. Earlier, Sister Laisa Varghese, Principal of the school, delivered the welcome address.

The students of the school performed several cultural programmes in the inaugural session. The students’ band formed for the first time in the school performed and the National Anthem was played at the end. The inaugural ceremony was moderated by Sunny Joseph Dhan, a teacher of the school while another teacher Bornali Chetia delivered the vote of thanks.

Besides the students and teachers of the school, the exhibition was enjoyed by the students and teachers of several other local schools.
