Assam Science Society Demow Branch organizes Bijnan Chetana Jatra

Under the aegis of the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council under the Department of Science, Technology and Climate Change, Government of Assam, the Assam Science Society Demow Branch had organized Bijnan Chetana Jatra against superstition in Sunny Rose English High School Rajmai on Saturday.

DEMOW: Under the aegis of the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council under the Department of Science, Technology and Climate Change, Government of Assam, the Assam Science Society Demow Branch had organized Bijnan Chetana Jatra against superstition in Sunny Rose English High School Rajmai on Saturday.

As per the schedule on Saturday, the programme started with flag hoisting, the flag of Assam Science Society Demow Branch was hoisted by Arup Kumar Dutta, president of Assam Science Society Demow Branch, and the flag of Sunny Rose English High School was hoisted by Puna Gogoi, Principal of Sunny Rose English High School.

The three-day Bijnan Chetana Jatra programme was inaugurated by Bhim Dehingia, retired Administrative Officer, Arunachal Pradesh. A one-act titled Ekhoj (one step) was staged on the occasion and was performed by Dramatist Prabhat Bania and his team. A ‘Science Behind Miracle’ magic show was shown in the programme by Gautam Hira, a magician as well as a media person of Demow. Dr Surajit Giri, an anaesthesia specialist, as well as Snake Bite Specialist Doctor of Demow Model Hospital, created awareness among people and students present there on how to get rid of superstitions.

On August 28 the Bijnan Chetana Jatra programme will be organized in Bokota Nemuguri Higher Secondary School and on August 29, the Bijnan Chetana Jatra programme will be organized in Bamrajabari High Medium School.
