GUWAHATI: The police found up to seven stolen bicycles that had been reported as missing from Guwahati on Thursday. The bikes have reportedly been stolen from Guwahati in the past, according to the information that was obtained. However, today in the Kamrup district of Assam, they were all discovered and rescued from Boko.

The bikes were all transported back to Guwahati and are now being detained at Latasil Police Station after being found in Boko's Sontoli where they had been reported stolen. Police officers were informed that nobody has yet shown up to claim the stolen motorcycles. In addition, authorities noted that two of the bikes found today lacked license plates.

It should be noted that on January 12, the Guwahati Police carried out an operation that resulted in the recovery of at least nine stolen bikes.

The stolen bikes were found during operations that the city police carried out in several areas throughout Guwahati, according to sources. Three further suspects were detained by the police in connection with the recovery of the nine stolen bikes. Sontali, Malibari, and Samaria were the locations of the raid.

At Guwahati Railway Station, the police were able to find up to 45 stolen bikes in September of last year. The motorcycles were taken from the second platform of the railroad station by the Government Railway Police (GRP), according to the sources.

The bikes were stolen from Delhi and were on their way to Dimapur, which is in Nagaland. The paint was used to cover the stolen bikes' engine and chassis numbers. The bikes were seized by the GRP after receiving information from covert informants, but no arrests were made right away.

A motorcycle gang was apprehended by Khetri police in 2021, and 12 stolen motorcycles were found in their possession. Following multiple arrests connected to it, leads and trails were discovered that revealed the gang's complete network.

Three suspects were detained by a Khetri police unit from the East Guwahati Police District, and they were found to be in possession of a stolen KTM Duke 250 motorcycle. Eight more suspects were subsequently detained on the basis of the information provided by the initial detainees. They had seven stolen bikes that were found.
