NALBARI: In an initiative by Nalbari district administration on Wednesday at Haribhanga HS School, a one-year football coaching was flagged off by District Commissioner Varnali Deka.
Sports items were also distributed by the district administration. Punjab National Bank, under its CSR, sponsored sporting gear and items for the local soccer players. Speaking at the event, Nalbari DC Varnali Deka exhorted the students and participants to keep working hard, and practice diligently to succeed in the sport they love. She also spoke of the vision of the Chief Minister to identify sportspersons and engage youth in passive activities through the Khel Maharan.
Hundreds of youngsters came forward to benefit from the football coaching by coach Kanak Boro. Assistant Commissioner Udeshna Sarma, District Sports Officer Luturaj Basumatary, representatives from various local social organizations, students of Haribhanga HS School and others attended the meeting.
