Assam: Sufi video album 'Mere Humdum' released in Mangaldai

The song has been composed jointly by a prominent Pakistani composer, Shahbaz Nazir Ejaz Khan and Indian composer Aditya Kalkal of Punjab.

MANGALDAI: Arkeeb Shivam, a promising music talent of Mangaldai, has made his debut in the world of Sufi music with the release of his first Sufi video album Mere Hum Dum.

The song is of special significance as its composition has connected two different countries which have been struggling for long for a peaceful and friendly political relationship. The song has been composed jointly by a prominent Pakistani composer, Shahbaz Nazir Ejaz Khan and Indian composer Aditya Kalkal of Punjab. Kalkal is also the lyricist of the song while music has been given by Arshad M Rahman.

The album produced under the banner of ‘Shivam Production’ stars Prashanta Tiwari and Ananya in the video. It is directed and edited by another young talent from Mangaldai, Tirap Medhi. The album was formally released to the global viewers through the YouTube channel of Arkeeb on Friday evening on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr- the festival of divine peace and universal brotherhood. A simple function was organized at Arkeeb’s residence at Ward No. 4 here in Mangaldai to mark the release of the album.

Taking part in it, senior journalists Bhargab Kumar Das, Hemanta Kr Baruah and Mayukh Goswami, in presence of a number of young YouTubers and family members and well wishers, highly appreciated the initiative of Arkeeb and his team and hoped that the production would draw a huge audience across the world.

Earlier, Arkeeb’s mother Mala Deka, a teacher and a holder of Bachelor of Music degree from Bhatkhande Music University, greeted the guests while his father Satyesh Nath gave a brief account on the back ground of production Mere Hum Dum.
