TEZPUR: “Suraxito Xaisab Sonali Axom”, a 90-day campaign on child protection issues concluded on Monday at Government Boys High School, Tezpur. The programme was organized by District Child Protection Unit Sonitpur in collaboration with State Child Protection Society.
The day-long programme witnessed participation from various schools like Moonlit High School, All Saints Diocesan School, Tezpur Government Boys High School,Tezpur Academy etc. The programme started with a opening song from the inmates of Snehabandhan CCI and later a play was staged to aware the public on various child protection issues.
Subsequently, the dignitaries were invited upon the stage following Arun Nath, noted Assamese actor, Chief Executive officer of Zilla Parishad Sonitpur Karabi Saikia Karan, secretary of District Legal Services Authority Sonitpur, Pritish Choudhury, chairperson of Child Welfare Committee Sonitpur, Abha Borah and District Social Welfare officer Sonitpur Rubi Kalita respectively. The invited guests gave valuable speech outlining the dynamics of child protection with an emphasis on the overall aspects of the components of the Child Protection Policy..
Towards the end of the programme the participants from the various schools showcased their talents by reciting poems, songs and many more. The programme ended with a yoga performance by the inmates of Snehabandhan CCI.
