Assam Tea Karmachari Sangha felicitated meritorious students in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The INTUC recognized trade union Assam Tea Karmachari Sangha (ACKS), under the aegis of Tingrai branch, felicitated 34 students to encourage children of tea garden employees working in several tea gardens of Tingrai branch, at a meeting held at Vijay Bhawan Hall, Bordubi on Sunday.

The meeting was chaired by the president of the ACKS Tingrai branch, Indrajit Gogoi and was moderated by central general secretary of ACKS, Rishav Kakita. In their motivating and career counselling speeches, Rana Kumar Changmai, former principal of Tinsukia College, and Tarangamalla Barua, vice-principal of Bordubi Senior Secondary School, asked the students to be firm in their determination with guidance from teachers and parents. The meeting was attended by journalist Amrit Sharma, ACKS vice president BirenAdhyapak, and others. Among the meritorious students felicitated on the occasion, 21 were from higher secondary and 13 from high school.
