GOLAGHAT: BJP president JP Nadda allegedly made a fool of the people of Assam at a public meeting. JP Nadda, on his visit to the State, had addressed a meeting at Silchar where he stated that the six ethnic communities of Assam, namely Moran, Matak, Koch Rajbongshi, Chutia, Tai Ahom and tea tribes had been given Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. This statement of the national president of the ruling party has been vehemently criticized by Assam Tea Tribes Students' Association secretary AnujKurmi in Golaghat. Kurmi said that Nadda had not only made a fool of the Chief Minister of Assam but also hurt the sentiments of the six ethnic communities and the people of Assam. The ATTSA demanded that JP Nadda must apologize for such statement.
