Assam: Teachers’ association extends support to pen-down programme

The MV School Teachers’ Association has extended its support to the pen-down programme undertaken by the All Assam Employees’ Union.

JAMUGURIHAT: The MV School Teachers’ Association has extended its support to the pen-down programme undertaken by the All Assam Employees’ Union.

Notably, the All Assam Employees’ Union has called on a statewide pen-down programme on October 7. In a press release issued by Ranjit Borthakur and Lohit Chandra Deka, president and the secretary of the association respectively, it was stated that the All Assam MV Teachers’ Association also has been demanding restoration of OPS (Old Pension Scheme). In this regard, the Association has already submitted many memoranda to the authorities concerned.

The teachers and employees who were appointed after 2005 and superannuated from their services have been leading financially insecure lives due to the National Pension System (NPS). The conditions of the OBB (Operation Blackboard) teachers are the same. The press release further appealed to all concerned to extend their support to make the pen down programme called on by the Union on October 7 a success..
