Assam: Ten-day Summer camp concludes in Sonitpur

A ten-day workshop organized at Bapuji Bhawan here by the cultural affairs department, Sonitpur in association with Jamuguri Bohagi Mela, concluded on Monday. Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika graced the concluding session as a chief guest.

JAMUGURIHAT: A ten-day workshop organized at Bapuji Bhawan here by the cultural affairs department, Sonitpur in association with Jamuguri Bohagi Mela, concluded on Monday. Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika graced the concluding session as a chief guest. Addressing the participants, MLA Hazarika recited some lines of Assamese poems, said some dialogues also. He further made a humble appeal to the young generation to get involved in creative works instead of sparing time in idle chatting. The closing ceremony was attended by Jitendra Das, officer of Sonitpur district Cultural Affairs department, Jayanta Bora, secretary of Baresohoriya Bhaona committee, Pallabita Sarma Mahanta, chairman of Jamuguri Town Committee, Anjan Kalita, Goutam Lahan besides other dignitaries. Dipa Tamuli, Himakhi Saikia, Dipa Das, Manjyoti Hazarika imparted training as master trainers. The participants were given certificate of participation to each.

DHUBRI: A 15-day summer workshop for Dhubri legislative constituency held in the Police Reserve Community Hall here under the auspices of State Ministry of Cultural Affairs in collaboration with Dhubri District Administration concluded recently. In this workshop 89 students had taken part in Xatriya dance, 19 in recitation of poem and 30 in folk music and dance. As trainer and co- trainer, Erika Ingrid Nandi, Sunil Sen Gupta, Ohid Khan, Manado Devi, Sanoy Sarkar and Priya Khullar have imparted training in various fields of cultural, Xatriya, recitation and folk dance. Dhubri Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bonti Talukdar, Assistant Commissioner, Bali Das extended their cooperation in organising the 15-day event while entire workshop was held under the president of the organising committee, Sushanta Kar. Talking to The Sentinel, president of the organising committee, Sushanta Kar informed that in a short notice the camp was organized but all was well when it concluded well.
