Assam: Three Bangladeshi Nationals Detained in Cachar District for Illegal Cattle Smuggling

Three individuals from Bangladesh were apprehended in Assam's Cachar district for entering illegally and engaging in cattle smuggling.

GUWAHATI: In Assam's Cachar district, three Bangladeshi nationals have been apprehended in an incident reported on Monday. These individuals were intercepted by the local village defense organization near the Kinnakhal market, situated along the India-Bangladesh border.

The incident unfolded when vigilant locals noticed the suspicious movements of these three persons in the area on a Sunday night. Acting on their suspicions, the village defense organization took immediate action to apprehend the individuals. Following their apprehension, the detainees were subjected to thorough interrogation.

During the questioning, the trio confessed that they were indeed residents of Bangladesh. Their admission revealed a concerning motive: they had entered Cachar illegally with the intent of smuggling cattle back into Bangladesh. This revelation further raised alarms regarding illegal cross-border activities in the region.

Subsequently, the village defense organization promptly informed the Cachar Police about the situation. Upon the police's arrival, the three Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
