Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, a 12-year-old boy, including two members of his family drowned in a pond at Tingkhong in the Assam's Dibrugarh district on Thursday.
According to reports, the three deceased were identified as Tuku Hemrom (12), Kulin Hemrom (17), and Pulin Hemrom (22).
Two bodies have been recovered, while Tuku's body is yet to be rescued.
In this regard, the authorities have launched a search operation with the help of police and local residents of the area.
In March this year, in a similar incident, three teenagers lost their lives as they drowned in a small stream at Ambasa in northern Tripura.
A police official said that the three kids, after celebrating Holi, went to bathe in the charaa and subsequently became unconscious.
The children were immediately brought to the Government hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The parents of all three boys were personnel of 138 Battalion, BSF, the headquarters of which is in Ambasa in the Dhalai district.
