DOOMDOOMA: Under the ambitious scheme of ‘Amrit Briksha Andolan’, the Government of Assam will plant 10 million commercially demanded trees across Assam on September 17 to enrich the tree economy and increase green cover in the State.
Under this Amrit Briksha Andolan (Nectar Tree Movement), the target is to plant about 4 lakh commercially demanded tree seedlings in the Tinsukia district. District Commissioner of Tinsukia, Swapneel Paul held an important meeting with the directors of various tea estates in the district recently to review in details the preparations being made for the successful conduct of Amrit Briksha Andolan in the tea estates of the Tinsukia district. The District Commissioner discussed in detail the process of distribution of seedlings required for planting in tea estates under Amrit Briksha Andolan, geo tagging of planted seedlings and uploading of geo tagged photos on designated portals within the stipulated time. The District Commissioner urged all the participants to make sincere efforts to conduct the Amrit Briksha Andolan programme successfully in the district. The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Sushanta Kumar Dutta, Additional District Commissioner (ADC) Chinmay Pathak, and others.
