Assam to get roads worth Rs. 80,000 crore: Gadkari

A 203 km NH length at a cost of Rs 610 crore has been approved under the Central Road Fund (CRF) scheme for 20-21.

Jogighopa: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has planned for National Highway (NH) projects worth Rs 80,000 crore in Assam. Gadkari said this in the virtual event of laying the foundation stone for India's first multi-modal logistic park. The park is developed under the central government's ambitious Bharatmala Pariyojna.

Gadkari said, "NH works for 575 km worth Rs 3,545 crore are going to be completed within this financial year." National Highway works of about Rs. 15,000 crore will be granted next year. The DPRs for works of Rs 21,000 crore for the state will be completed.

12 black spots or accident prone spots have been identified on the National Highways of Assam. Gadkari informed that three of the 12 black spots have been temporarily improved, and all the black spots will be removed by 2023.
