Assam to Issues SOPs Tomorrow to Reopen Educational Institutions

The minister today held a meeting with the members of AASU, CCTOA, and other student organizations to discuss various matters related to the education of the state.

GUWAHATI: The Assam government on Monday has decided to issue a Standard Operating Proceeding (SOPs) on August 31 to reopen the educational institutions to conduct physical classes in the state.

The education minister of the state Ranoj Pegu said that the cabinet ministers held a meeting to reopening of educational institution to conduct physical classes for the higher secondary final, undergraduate final and postgraduate final year from the first week of September next 2021.

He said in the cabinet meeting, the decision was taken to issue SOPs on August 31st.

According to sources, the minister today held a meeting with the members of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Coordination Committee of Tribal Organisation Assam (CCTOA) and other student's organizations to discuss various matters related to the education of the state.

During the meeting, the officials of the Education Department of Assam were also present.

The education minister in his Twitter wrote, "Held a fruitful meeting with the representatives of the AASU, Coordination Committee of Tribal Organisations, Assam, student bodies of various tribes and communities on educational issues of the State".

He also wrote, "Their feedback and suggestions will help us to formulate our policies. Officials of the Education Dept. were also present".

In addition, COVID-19 vaccination camps for teachers, non-teaching staff and students above 18 years of age have been operational at the offices of Block Elementary Education Officer, District Elementary Education Officer, Inspector of Schools and all University campuses from August 27, which will continue till September 5.

The education minister has also cleared that for attending physical classes the first dose of Covid-19 is compulsory.
