Assam to Receive around 800 Train Passengers Tonight: Himanta Biswa Sarma

The Minister also informed that 4,060 people have entered Assam through Srirampur Gate and 630 people have entered via Sagolia check gate.

Assam Finance and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that Delhi-Dibrugarh train will bring 219 passengers to Assam tonight.

Additionally, Sarma said that the first Krishak Shramik Express will reach Northeast and make a final stop at Vairengte in Mizoram, and 625 of the passengers will get down in Assam.

Tonight, close to 800 passengers will deboard in various stations of Assam, Sarma said, adding that the night will be a "challenging" one for the officials who will receive the passengers at stations across Assam.

The Minister also informed that 4,060 people have entered Assam through Srirampur Gate and 630 people have entered via the Sagolia check gate.

Sarma announced that 4,690 people come from rest of India and 6,412 people have come in from the Northeast Indian states.The 4,690 people were put in institutional quarantine and 1,982 have been released, while there are 18 positive cases, informed Sarma, adding that 2,708 people are still in institutional quarantine.

Talking on the lines of the first 'special' passenger train that made its final halt earlier in the morning today in Dibrugarh, Sarma announced that 501 passengers had come to Assam on that train.
