GUWAHATI: In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded in Kampur, located within Assam's Nagaon district, a middle-aged man tragically lost his life after a harrowing fall from a moving train. The incident, which occurred on a Thursday, involved the southbound Rajdhani Express. Despite swift response from railway authorities, the identity of the deceased man remains unknown as of now. It's believed that the man inadvertently tumbled off the train, leading to his fatal injuries.

Railway police swiftly reached the scene of the unfortunate event. They efficiently recovered the man's body, which has been scheduled for a post-mortem examination. This tragic incident once again underscores the need for enhanced safety measures and precautions for passengers on trains, particularly when the vehicles are in motion.

Another grim incident rocked Assam, this time in Titabor, earlier in the same week. A worker lost his life while diligently performing his duty. Employed by the KEC Company, the man was engaged in essential work atop an electrical rail line post. Tragically, disaster struck when a speeding Awadh-Assam Express passed by. The high velocity of the train created a dragging effect, which led to the worker being pulled from his position and subsequently falling to his untimely demise. The victim's identity has been withheld.

Tragic events like these underscore the critical importance of workplace safety, particularly in industries involving high-risk tasks. The incident serves as a grim reminder that even routine tasks can turn fatal when proper safety protocols are not rigorously followed.

Amidst these unfortunate incidents, another KEC Company employee, Baharuddin Sheikh, also suffered injuries in the Titabor incident. This further highlights the need for comprehensive safety training and equipment for employees working in potentially hazardous environments.

The Assam community mourns the loss of these lives and calls for renewed attention to safety measures across various sectors. These incidents stand as a solemn reminder of the fragility of life and the need for unwavering commitment to safety in all aspects of our daily lives.
