Assam Union of Working Journalists condoles scribe's demise

Assam Union of Working Journalists (AUWJ) has expressed deep condolence at the demise of noted journalist

LAKHIMPUR: Assam Union of Working Journalists (AUWJ) has expressed deep condolence at the demise of noted journalist of Cachar district, Piyush Kanti Das. He was the president of Cachar District Bartajeevi Sangha, recognized by AUWJ, and he breathed his last on Wednesday night at a private hospital in Guwahati while undergoing treatment.

In a condolence note sent to media by organizing secretary Bhaskar Sarmah, AUWJ president Keshab Kalita and general secretary Tutumoni Phukan said that Piyush Kanti Das was a courageous, honest and dedicated journalist who spearheaded the AUWJ in entire Barak Valley taking charge as the president of Cachar District Bartajeevi Sangha.

"The demise of Piyush Kanti Das is the non-repairable void for the State journalism and AUWJ. His dynamic and efficient leadership and exemplary dedication in the field concerned will be ever memorable," stated the condolence note.
