Assam: Untimely Death Of Student Sparks Uproar In Hojai, Family Alleges Foul play

The relatives of the deceased have alleged that Farhaz was murdered at the hostel premises and was brought to the hospital to cover up the actual incident.

Guwahati: The untimely death of Farhaz Hussain, a student of 10th standard studying in Markaz Academy English High School, sparked a huge uproar across Assam's Hojai on July 31.

As per reports, the deceased, a resident of Moran in Dibrugarh district, was declared dead by doctors, after he was taken to a hospital in Hojai in critical condition. 

Outraged by his sudden demise, the relatives of the deceased student raised hue and cry on the hospital premises and summoned the police.

The school authority have claimed that Farhaz along with 16 other hostel mates went to the Jalalnagar area nearby Hojai town last Saturday.

After spending the night in a mosque, Farhaz allegedly went for a swim in a pond on Sunday morning and subsequently got drowned.

He was later taken to Haji Abdul Majid Memorial Hospital & Research Centre in Hojai, where, the doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased have suspected foulplay and have alleged that Farhaz was murdered at the hostel premises and was brought to the hospital to cover up the actual incident.

The Hojai police have already launched an investigation into the case.
