Assam: Upcoming Developmental Projects in Nalbari Announced

The state government is planning to start projects worth Rs 15000 in the coming days

NALBARI: The chief minister and several members of the Assam Cabinet visited the Nalbari District of Assam on December 6 as a part of an ongoing event by the state government. Himanta Bisawa Sarma inaugurated several projects in the district and laid the foundations of many more.

The state has dedicated the ongoing fortnight towards the development of the infrastructure across the state. Reportedly Rs 15000 Cr will be invested across eleven districts of the state in this timeline. It started with the Bongaigaon district yesterday where the chief minister announced projects worth almost Rs 700 Cr. Today is the second day and he visited Nalbari where he announced projects worth almost the same amount. He also inaugurated several completed projects during the visit.

The following are the projects that the CM inaugurated during this visit.

  • The Nalbari Horticultural Science and Agricultural Methods Research College. It will come under the aegis of the Assam Agricultural University.
  • A Sub-regional Science Center and Observatory in the Nalbari district. It also housed the first 3D Planetarium of the Northeastern region.
  • Vidyanuragi Bishwanath Sharma Road connecting NH-31 with RS-9.Apart from the above projects, the chief minister also announced a host of other projects under the One Week of Development programme.
  • Construction of a state-of-the-art sports facility in Sariyahatli.
  • Building an integrated district commissioner's office in the district to provide all services on one campus.
  • Extension of workshops and laboratories in the Government Polytechnic to transform it into a center of excellence.
  • Expansion of the Nalbari Guwahati road via Hajo and construction of a dam on the Pagladia river.
  • Widening and expansion of Nalbari Palla Road from Shalmara to Bongaon Jagara via Billeswar Devalaya.
  • Construction of a dam and a road from the railway line of Nadla drainage channel to the Burhadia river.
  • Upgradation of resources at the government ITIs
  • Upgradation and beautification of six of the main roads in Nalbari town.
