MORIGAON: The 10 day-long summer workshop on Tiwa folk dance was kicked off at Silchang community hall from July 15 and will end on July 24. With an aim to promote folk culture, the Director of Cultural Affairs, Assam has been organizing summer workshop such as drama, folk dance, folk song since July 15 at 126 constituencies in Assam. At Silchang, Silchang Tiwar Krishti Sangha (Lalung) and Silchang Khola Deuraja Rajdhani Ronga Moncha led by its president Suven Bordoloi have been escorting the cultural workshop at Silchang community hall. Altogether 145 students have been participating in the workshop. Bakindra Mosrang, secretary, TCS, central committee is providing coaching to the students in the workshop. The trained students will perform Tiwa folk dances on the closing day of the workshop.
