TINSUKIA: One person has allegedly been hurt in a clash between the security forces and suspected militants during an early-morning operation by the security forces against the outlawed militant group United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) in Upper Assam's Tinsukia.
Amit Mukhiya is the individual who has been hurt. According to sources, the injured person has been taken to the hospital, although it is still unclear whether he was a civilian or had ties to the militants.
The police and security agencies have yet to issue a formal statement. According to reports, a confrontation between security personnel and suspected ULFA-I members occurred in Tinsukia's Pengeree neighbourhood.
To keep everything under control, the administration has closed the Pengeree-Digboi route. There has been no formal comment made about the incident, and the injured person is a Pengeree inhabitant.
According to the statements provided by the authorities, the police and security personnel were informed that a suspected militant organisation was taking refuge in the region. The militants belonged to the ULFA-I, according to the source.
However, it has been reported that the injured youth is a civilian. It should be noted that during the preparation of this article, the injured civilian was not permitted to talk to the media. The insider also said that the police are now completing various "formalities" related to the incident that are legal in nature.
Another shooting incident occurred earlier this year in the Tinsukia district's Pengeri woodland region. Armed forces and law enforcement shot at insurgents. The army conducted the raid on the assumption that there were some insurgents in the nearby woodland. The alleged five militants have taken refuge in the nearby forest.
According to the sources, The army has now blocked the Pengeri-Digboi connection road after a significant exchange of gunfire between the two sides. It is still unknown how many people were hurt in the incident.
