Assamese literature Lakshmi Nandan Bora's demise condoled

LAKHIMPUR: The demise of Padma Shri Lakshmi Nandan Bora, a gem of Assamese literature, was condoled across Lakhimpur district. He was suffering from COVID-19 infection and passed away at a private hospital in Guwahati on Thursday.

Former president Surendranath Hazarika and secretary Jugal Hazarika, on behalf of Purvanchal Sakha Xahitya Xabha, Bipul Sarmah Baruah on behalf of Lakhimpur District Xahitya Xabha, Matribhasa aru Rajyabhasa Prayog Upasamiti convener Sanjib Upadhyay, president Lohit Chandra Khaond and secretary Mintu Sarmah on behalf of Telahi Kamalaboriya Sakha Xahitya Xabha, president Atul Dutta on behalf of Tilak Mohan Dastidar Smritirakshya Samiti, spokesman Prashanta Gogoi on behalf of Lakhimpur District Congress Committee, president Premananda Howborah and secretary Tilak Deka on behalf of Uttar Lakhimpur Xahitya Xabha expressed grief at the death of the Xahita Akademi award winner literary figure.

On the other hand, Press Guild, Dhakuakhana president Alok Chamua and secretary Rajib Baruah also mourned the demise of Lakshmi Nandan Bora and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. In a condolence note, they stated that the void in the literary arena of the State following the death of the literary figure could not be fulfilled. Dhakuakhana Sakha Xahitya Xabha president Bidya Dutta and secretary Dr. Jitu Kumar Chamua also expressed condolence at the demise of Lakshmi Nandan Bora.
