Assistant Teacher of Doomdooma Bangiya Vidyalaya Ashim Chakraborty Dies of COVID

Ashim Chakraborty (Bapi), assistant teacher, Doomdooma Bangiya Vidyalaya, died of COVID-19 at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh on Friday.

DOOMDOOMA: Ashim Chakraborty (Bapi), assistant teacher, Doomdooma Bangiya Vidyalaya, died of COVID-19 at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh on Friday. He was 55 and is survived by his wife and a daughter.

About six months back, he was transferred to Doomdooma Girls' Secondary School by the Inspector of Schools due to acute shortage of teachers arising out of superannuation of a good number of teachers. But he was drawing salary from Doomdooma Bangiya Vidyalaya. Before joining teaching, he was secretary of Daimukhia Gaon Panchayat (GP). He was a very pious person and was indispensable in organizing Basanti Puja in his locality, Dharma Kanta Gohain Path every year. His death has been widely mourned by Doomdooma Bangiya Vidyalaya and Doomdooma Girls' Secondary School, among others.
