GOLAGHAT: Golaghat Police have failed to find out the miscreants who attacked and vandalized the Golaghat District Journalist Association (GDJA) office during the State wide agitation against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

On Tuesday, the journalists of GDJA expressed sharp reaction over the attack on the GDJA office and destroying of office materials. Nine months have passed but the police have not been able to arrest any person or even identify anyone who was involved in the attack. The GDJA expressed dissatisfaction over the failure of the Golaghat police.

Interesting, during the time of the incident, night curfew was enforced in the district. On the night of December 12 last year, the GDJA office, which is located in front of the residence of the Additional Superintendent of Police and near the residence of the Deputy Commissioner, was attacked. Several organizations demanded arrest of miscreants and at that time, Additional SP Surajit Singh Paneswar assured to arrest the miscreants very soon. But nothing has been done so far.
