Atul Bora inaugurates State-run CBSE curriculum Adarsh Vidyalaya at Ghilamora

State Agriculture Minister-cum-Guardian Minister of Lakhimpur, Atul Bora on Tuesday inaugurated the State-run CBSE curriculum Adarsh Vidyalaya at Ghilamora under Dhakuakhana subdivision of the Lakhimpur district.

LAKHIMPUR: State Agriculture Minister-cum-Guardian Minister of Lakhimpur, Atul Bora on Tuesday inaugurated the State-run CBSE curriculum Adarsh Vidyalaya at Ghilamora under Dhakuakhana subdivision of the Lakhimpur district.

The Adarsha Vidyalaya is a CBSE curriculum English Medium Secondary School which aims to provide a quality academic environment to the students encompassing all spheres of academic and co-curricular activities as decided to establish by the Government of Assam. Presently, there are 38 functional Adarsha Vidyalayas in the State and another 18 new schools of this kind have been inaugurated since Monday. These schools are under the administrative control of Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (AVS), Assam, under the Department of School Education, Government of Assam. Out of the 38 functional Adarsha Vidyalayas, 15 schools are having Class-l to Class-X and out of these schools, 13 schools are starting Senior Secondary Classes (Class XI, in both Arts & Science Streams). The 18 new schools are being inaugurated with Class-l and Class-VI in each school. The next higher classes would be subsequently be filled up as the newly admitted students are promoted.

The inaugural function of the school began with the paying of rich tribute to Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha on the occasion of the Bishnu Rabha Divas. Minister Atul Borah lit the earthen lamp in front of the portrait of the ‘Kalaguru’ and paid reference to the ‘Gana Silpi’ (People’s Artiste) by garlanding the same.

While inaugurating the school, the minister said that the Adarsha Vidyalaya would benefit the students of all spheres of the society by providing quality education and realize the plan on the part of the incumbent BJP-led Government of Assam. “From this day onward, students belonging to poor family can study in the State-run English medium school of CBSE curriculum,” the minister said while thanking and appreciating Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for adopting the initiative.

In the event, the students of Ghilamora Town LP School presented Bishnu Rabha Sangeet. The event was attended by Dhakuakhana MLA Naba Kumar Doley, Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, Dhakuakhana SDO (Civil) Kartik Kalita, Inspector of Schools Hemkanta Saikia, along with a galaxy of prominent persons.

Earlier in the morning, minister Atul Bora inaugurated the Tea Garden Model School, established at Ananda Tea Estate. The programme, organized on this occasion, was held under the management of Derazul Hussain, the Lakhimpur District Programme Officer of the Samagra Siksha Abhiyan. Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, ADC Bhaskar Jyoti Baruah, Dhakuakhana MLA Naba Kumar Doley, DAC chief Bhairav Deuri were among those who were present in the programme.
