Awards conferred to meritorious students in Sivasagar district

Gaurisagar Higher Secondary Industrial (GHII) Institute in Sivasagar district recently conferred various educational trusts

GAURISAGAR: Gaurisagar Higher Secondary Industrial (GHII) Institute in Sivasagar district recently conferred various educational trusts on meritorious students who excelled in the HSLC and HSSLC examination from the examination centre of GHII.

In this connection, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Suresh Borah, president of the Trust Managing Committee. Rukheswar Gogoi, Principal of GHII, explained the objective and welcomed the guests. Robin Hazarika, former Vice-Principal of Amguri Aauniati Hem Chandra Dev HS, and Bonti Borgohain Bhuyan, Principal of KPM High School, Baliaghat took part as distinguished guests. They urged the students to devote themselves for the development of society as well as the country.

The Ghana Kanta Gogoi, Siva Chandra Goswami, Dulu Hazarika, Dayal Mahanta, Jagat Chandra Das and Horendra Nath Kalita memorial educational awards were awarded to Pinjumoni Baruah, Parishmita Sarmah, Santanu Das, Biraj Ballav Neog, Lakshimai Das, Piku Das and Pinku Das for performing well in the HSLC and HSSLC examination, 2020. Besides these awards, from next year two more awards will be conferred by Binod Borah and Bonti Borgohain Bhuyan.

On the other hand, for the first time, KPM High School introduced an award for the student who gets highest mark in English subject in the HSLC examination from Gaurisagar HSLC centre. The maiden award was conferred to Tridisha Dutta, a student of KPM High School who scored highest mark (98) in English from Gaurisagar centre. The award carries Rs 2,000 cash and a citation. Hemonta Kumar Bhuyan, subject teacher of the school, was also felicitated in the meeting for receiving the best district teacher award in 2020.
