Awareness meeting on BKWAC constituency formation and delimitation held

A public awareness meeting of the senior citizens and leaders of different Bodo organizations of Dimoria and Sonapur area of Kamrup Metropolitan district was held at Dimoria Tribal Sangha office on the move of State Government to finalize the Bodo Kachari community inhabitants villages and delimitation, formation of constituencies of the BKWAC.

LAKHIMPUR: A public awareness meeting of the senior citizens and leaders of different Bodo organizations of Dimoria and Sonapur area of Kamrup Metropolitan district was held at Dimoria Tribal Sangha office on the move of State Government to finalize the Bodo Kachari community inhabitants villages and delimitation, formation of constituencies of the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC).

While participating in the meeting, EM Anil Basumatary explained in details on the actions taken by BKWAC and State government to notify the Bodo Kachari community inhabitants villages and constituencies of BKWAC in accordance with BKWAC Act. 2020 as early as possible. He also said that this BKWAC political arrangement is the future of the Bodos living outside Sixth Schedule area of Assam for their growth and development, specially in the field of culture, socio-economic, language and literature and to fulfill the political hopes and aspirations in the days to come. He appealed to the Bodo people to be united in order to build a vibrant society of the Bodos in Assam as well as in the nation. He added that the BKWAC Act, 2020 and the present political arrangement would be a milestone for Bodos inclusively.
