Awareness on Har Ghar Tiranga programme in Sonitpur district

The Sonitpur district administration has taken up various activities to create awareness about the upcoming Har Ghar Tiranga campaign among the people.

TEZPUR: The Sonitpur district administration has taken up various activities to create awareness about the upcoming Har Ghar Tiranga campaign among the people. The central Government has launched the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign under which the citizens of the country are being encouraged to hoist the National Flag at their houses to mark 75 years of India's independence.

The District Disaster Management Authority, Sonitpur has taken up various awareness activities in the district from August 8 to 15. Under this, a mobile vehicle decorated with banners, the national flag, posters, etc., is going around the district to create awareness about the campaign and playing the official theme song for 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme, produced by the Department of Cultural Affairs. Also, various PSAs produced by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Assam are also being played for creating maximum awareness among the public. The officials engaged with the vehicle are also distributing leaflets/pamphlets on Har Ghar Tiranga Programme among the public and they are also selling national flags @Rs.18/- procured from FCS&CA Department.

Also, selfie stands have been set up at the office of Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur and all Circle Offices of the district for the officials, staff and public for uploading selfies in the harghartiranga.com portal from August 8 to 15.

On the occasion, an essay writing competition among the students of the district will be conducted in association with the Education Department from August 9 to 12, across various schools. The top three position holders of each category will be felicitated as part of the programme.

DDMA, Sonitpur is also collecting selfies with the national flag from RG/GR beneficiaries and have been uploading in the harghartiranga.com portal and the district website.

Moreover, regular PSAs are being played through the FLS system in Tezpur town by the office of the DIPRO, Sonitpur, to create awareness about the amended Flag Code of India stating the correct way to hoist the National Flag of India.

Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra has appealed to the citizens of Sonitpur to take active part in the Har Ghar Tiranga programme, hoist the Tricolour in their homes from August 13 to 15 and pin a flag at harghartiranga.com portal.
