HAFLONG: As a part of 90-day campaign on child protection, “Suroxito Xaishab Sonali Axom’, a district level rally-cum-awareness programme on child protection issues was organized by the District Child Protection Unit, Dima Hasao in collaboration with district administration, Dima Hasao, District Legal Service Authority and AROH Society, Haflong, Dima Hasao at Haflong on Thursday.
The district level rally was flagged off by Simanta Kr. Das, ACS, District Commissioner, Dima Hasao from DC Office, Dima Hasao upto District Library Auditorium hall via the statue of Mahatma Gandhi followed by awareness programme on child protection issues at District Library Auditorium hall, Haflong.
The programme began with lighting of lamp by the chief guest Col. Ghanender Pratab Singh, Commanding Officer 32 Assam Rifle at District Library Auditorium hall, Haflong. He was accompanied by Shukram Chauhan, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, District Administration, Nilopal Deka, APS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajat Moni Thaosen, Chairman, Child Welfare Committee, Dima Hasao and Rajdeep Kemprai, District Child Protection Officer (i/c).
Two main resource persons attended the programme. Gautam Daimari, AJS Secretary District Legal Service Authority spoke on ‘Child Marriage’ and Dr. Ronald Bathari, Anaesthesiologist & Programme Cordinator Holy Spirit Rehab. Centre spoke on ‘Substance Abuse’.
