Awareness programme on NALSA organised in Hailakandi

Assam State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority, Hailakandi jointly organised an awareness programme on NALSA (Protection and Enforcement of Tribal Rights) Scheme, 2015, Wildlife and Environment Laws, Forest Laws, and the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 with special reference to 'Child Rights and Women Rights' at Rakhalraj LP School, Alexendarpur, Katlicherra here on Saturday.

HAILAKANDI: Assam State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority, Hailakandi jointly organised an awareness programme on NALSA (Protection and Enforcement of Tribal Rights) Scheme, 2015, Wildlife and Environment Laws, Forest Laws, and the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 with special reference to 'Child Rights and Women Rights' at Rakhalraj LP School, Alexendarpur, Katlicherra here on Saturday.

Different government departments and agencies like the District Social Welfare, Childline, DFO and 181 Women Helpline participated. The programme attended by Advocate, District Bar Association, Kamrul Islam Choudhury and Monsur Ahmed Barbhuiya from 181 Women Helpline, as resource persons, helped in spreading awareness about some important laws amongst the students as well as local people.

LDA, District Legal Services Authority, Rajesh Chakraborty explained the objectives of the awareness programme and the functions of DLSA. Advocate Choudhury highlighted the issues pertaining to NALSA (Protection and Enforcement of Tribal Rights) Scheme, 2015, Wildlife and Environment Laws, Forest Laws, and the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 with focus on child rights and women rights. Resource person, Barbhuiya from 181 Women Helpline dwelt at length on the utilities of 1098 Childline and 181 Women Helpline. The event ended with vote of thanks from LDA, District Legal Services Authority, SM Sadullah Ahmed Mazumder.
