MORIGAON: An awareness programme on organic farming was organized by an NGO — Jeeban Jeuti Krishak Sangha — in collaboration with Morigaon District Agriculture office on Sunday on the bank of Charon Beel. The awareness programme was organized with an aim to inform the masses about the importance of organic farming. An Agartala based farmer Rupesh Dev Nath provided a demo on an organic medicine — All Purpose Spray Adjuvant Concentrate for Plants and Crops (APSA). The APSA reduces surface tension and makes water wetter, it also helps water and whatever pesticide it's carrying penetrate the soil faster and more evenly. Besides it helps pesticides spread better and hence gives better disease control. The ADO Muhan Bora asked the attended farmers to take the organic farming avoiding inorganic farming so that everyone can live a healthy life. Earlier the president of JJKS Tulsi Deka welcomed the farmers in the programme. The meeting was also attended by SO Siva Saikia, Debashree Biswas. More than 150 farmers took part in the awareness camp.
