Awareness programme on sexual harassment in Tinsukia

The Women’s Studies and Development Cell (WSDC) of Tinsukia College, in collaboration with the Internal Complaints Committee and Gender Champions Club, organized an awareness programme on sexual harassment among the residential students of Gyanankush Residential School

TINSUKIA: The Women’s Studies and Development Cell (WSDC) of Tinsukia College, in collaboration with the Internal Complaints Committee and Gender Champions Club, organized an awareness programme on sexual harassment among the residential students of Gyanankush Residential School on Tuesday.

Ankit Sen, Professor of Centre for Management Education of the college and nodal teacher of Gender Champions Club, as the resource person explained in detail about sexual harassment, its importance and how the boys should protect themselves from it. The school administrator, Sanjeev Chetri explained the objectives of the programme. The event was attended by Dr Deepika Bhattacharya, Dr Sanghamitra Sharma, Rijumani Kalita, Lipika Buragohain, Mayuri Sharma Barua, Jishnu Madhav Kalita and Harshit Kalwar of the college.

After the programme, the Librarian of Tinsukia College, Dipshikha Sensuwa proposed to provide facilities for the use of books from the college library to help the students of Gyanankush Residential School to increase their knowledge.
