Awareness programme organized on the occasion of International Women's Day in Tinsukia

International Women’s Day was observed at Sadiya in Tinsukia district under the aegis of Sadiya Block Mission Management Unit of Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) by different Self-Help Groups (SHGs) on Monday.

TINSUKIA: International Women's Day was observed at Sadiya in Tinsukia district under the aegis of Sadiya Block Mission Management Unit of Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) by different Self-Help Groups (SHGs) on Monday.

The Dikshita cluster comprising of SHGs of Sunpura, Hollowgaon and Ambikapur organized an awareness programme at Sunpura Girls' High School with Monoroma Bhattarai, chairperson of Dikshita in the chair. The significance of the day was highlighted by Jugabala Buragohain, headmistress of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Anjali Baruah, headmistress of Sunpura Girls' High School, among others. Bibha Buragohain of NSM, and Priyalata Kochari spoke on the health and nutritional aspect of pregnant women and girl child. More than 160 members of SHGs attended the programme. Earlier they also held street play and other activities.

While in another programme, Trinayan cluster comprising of SHGs of Shantipur, Buraburi and Amarpur gaon panchyats organized an awareness meeting at Ratanpur High School which was chaired by Rajeswari Gogoi, president of Trinayan, and was addressed by Pahiti Gogoi, headmistress of Ratanpur High School, social worker Amiya Borah, local gaon burah Pradip Saikia, besides others. More than 200 women from three SHGs attended the programme.
